Evertec Uses Solutions from Paragon Application Systems to Implement Voice Guidance at ATMsEvertec licenses text-to-speech module in Paragon’s ATMulator Plus and optimizes implementation with Paragon testing framework (Holly Springs, NC—June 29, 2010) Evertec, a leading provider of ePayment transaction processing services in Latin America, has licensed software and services from Paragon Application Systems to implement voice guidance in their ATM network. Evertec licensed the text-to-speech add-on module for ATMulator Plus, Paragon’s ATM simulation, configuration and testing tool, as well as Paragon Professional Services to implement text-to-speech. To comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Puerto Rico requires that banks provide voice guidance at ATMs. Using text-to-speech, visually impaired customers are able to plug ear phones into the ATM and hear text commands guiding them through their transaction. Paragon helped add text-to-speech capability to the NCR ATM’s and prepare them for Evertec’s ATH ATM network. Since 2008, Evertec has used Paragon software including ATMulator Plus as well as several versions of FASTest for QA and regression testing. Evertec is using ATMulator Plus to test their BASE24 Device handlers for Diebold and NCR and to test their ATM monitoring system, Gasper. They are using FASTest to simulate and test their on-line transaction processing and to conduct pre-certification testing with other payment networks and major credit cards.
